Customer Service Advisor

 

Reporting to: Customer Service Advisor 

Location/ Based: Portlaoise (some working from home will be available as part of our 

return to the office post Covid-19 and future hybrid working model)

Nature of Position: Fixed Term (6 months).

In recent years DCC Oil Ireland (Emo Oil) has grown our business with the acquisition of Campus Oil, 

Jones Oil, two lubricant businesses, and the establishment of the Certa pay @ pump network.

Due to recent growth and expansion, we are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Customer 

Service Advisor to join our Customer Service team.

Main Purpose of the Role:

The Customer Service Advisor will work closely with the Contact Centre Manger and Team Leaders 

across our sales teams in establishing high levels of customer care and customer service across all 

incoming enquiries, complaints etc. 

Responsibilities:

• To deal with all customer service interactions in a courteous and professional manner

• To efficiently deal with transactions from initial call/ enquiry through to 

completion/resolution

• Effectively manage customer queries regarding delivery timeframes, orders queries, 

processing of payments etc.

• To be compliant in providing customers with accurate information regarding deliveries, 

pricing, account information

• To provide a high level of customer care in the role at all times with a continuous 

improvement mindset

• To work closely with Sales/Credit/Transport/Operations/Health & Safety to ensure smooth 

and efficient service to customers

• Accurately record every call type on the telephony system to allow for effective analysis

• To manage any customer complaints to resolution, accurately recording information on 

systems and engaging with the relevant department where appropriate to ensure correct 

action is being taken

• To understand and demonstrate the unique selling points that differentiate DCC from our 

competitors

• To report/ bring to the attention of your Manager any problems that arise on an ongoing 

basis

• To be reasonably flexible in this position to undertake other work/ additional tasks as may 

be assigned to you/ reasonably requested from time to time

Education/ Skills/ Experience/ required:

• Minimum Leaving Certification qualification

• Relevant experience in a customer service/ customer care role is essential

• Ability to display initiative and have a strong commercial awareness to be able to close out 

and resolve customer enquiries, complaints etc. in a timely and efficient manner

• Problem-solving skills and abilities 

• Excellent communication interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to tailor 

communication styles to suit the situation; must be able to interact positively with both 

customers and internal personnel alike 

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel and customer 

databases
