Got questions about your home heating oil delivery? If you’ve just moved into your first home, or switched to an oil-fired heating system, you might be a bit confused about how your home heating oil delivery works. We are here to help you with any queries you might have, as our customer service team get asked questions like this all the time. Here are your home heating oil delivery FAQs answered, and if you don’t see your question below feel free to contact a member of the team who will be happy to help.
Q: How long does a home heating oil delivery take?
Normally not long – around half an hour max will be the norm for most customers. Our driver will arrive at your property, ensure he has access to your tank and then start the delivery, making sure your oil tank cap is secure before he heads on his way.
Q: Do you do ‘through home’ deliveries?
We do not offer ‘through house’ deliveries to customers at this time. There are insurance reasons for this, so apologies if this is a service you rely on.
Q: What should I prepare in advance for my home heating oil delivery?
Please make sure you have cleared a path to your oil tank so our driver can access it easily. If you have locked garden gates, remember to unlock them in the morning, otherwise we won’t be able to deliver that day. You should also remove any oil tank locks or other theft prevention measures in place.
Q: How do I know what type of home heating oil to order?
Normally, kerosene is the most popular choice for home heating oil for properties in Ireland, but we also offer gas oil (or green diesel) if you need it.
Q: Do you deliver to my area?
We deliver nationwide across Ireland, so if you need us we’ll be there. We have an extensive delivery network and a dedicated team who are ready and waiting to bring your oil to you.
Q: What is a planned delivery service?
We offer a planned delivery service so that you never run out of home heating oil again. We monitor the daily temperature and your average usage to calculate when you are running low, and then we plan to have your tank filled again, giving you a great ‘pence per litre’ price. There’s no need for you to monitor your tank or set yourself any reminder. Find out more about this service here.
Q: How much will I pay for home heating oil delivery?
The price depends on several external factors, like the price of home heating oil that day or your location. When you get a quote online using our form, we’ll include the price for delivery to your address so you’ll always know how much you’re paying, and there won’t be any nasty surprises. We’ll also tell how quickly we can deliver to you.
Q: If I get my fuel delivered in the rain, will I get a lot of water in my tank?
No, it’s very unlikely that you’ll get water in your tank from a delivery. If your delivery driver notices water in your tank, this is mostly caused by a cracked valve or cap that hasn’t been replaced properly.
