Problems with your heating system?

Motor/fan run but burner fails to fire and red light comes on.
  Possible Problem Action
  Is there oil in the tank? Order oil, Check burner along list, call your heating engineer.
  Has somebody shut the valve at the tank? Open valve and bleed feeder to release air lock.
  Air vent open too far or not far enough. Call maintenance person.
  Filter blockage (fuel starvation) Clean filter and bleed feeder pipe to release air lock.
  Electric odes need changing/resetting. Call maintenance person.
  Oil jets dirty or worn. Call maintenance person.
  Air lock. Bleed feeder pipe to release air lock.
 
Boiler makes no attempt to fire.
  Possible Problem Action
  Is there oil in the tank? Order oil, Check burner along list, call your heating engineer.
  Height temperature stat has come out. Push in height temperature stat and restart.
  Power has failed to power socket. Check fuse or trip switch on main board.
  Fuse blown in plug. Replace plug fuse.
 
Boiler runs for short time but cuts out.
  Possible Problem Action
  Air vent open too far or not far enough. Call maintenance person.
  Jets worn or dirty. Call maintenance person.
  Run out of oil. Call Emo.
 
Boiler fires but smokes badly.
  Possible Problem Action
  Air vent not open far enough. Call maintenance person.
  Jets worn or dirty. Call maintenance person
